Dear Cape Land Rover Club Members,

It is the time of the year again for you to put your 4x4 skills to the test during the NSRI Melkbosstrand 4x4 Day!

This exclusive event is the only time that you will have the chance of taking on the 4x4 routes of Koeberg Nature Reserve and experiencing the natural beauty and vistas of the reserve.

The Club has booked out the 11:00 departure slot, which means that all attendees must be there before 10:00 to register their entry.

Due to the exclusivity of this event, only fully paid-up members will be accommodated, on a First Come, First Served basis - there are only 15 spots available!

Venue: Koeberg Nature Reserve

Directions: Entrance is off the West Coast Road, approx. 1.5 km past the main entrance to the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in the direction of Atlantis. Once you enter the gate, you will be directed to the Parking area, Drive Registration Desk and Drivers Briefing Hall.

Date: Saturday 5th September 2026

Time: Registration at 10:00am, Departure at 11:00am

Costs: R799 per vehicle, immediate payment required to book your spot

Lunch: Please bring a picnic lunch/snacks, alternatively there will be food vendors on site offering coffee, "brekkie buns", hamburgers, boerewors rolls, cold drinks, etc.

Important Notes:

• The drive takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
• All drivers of the vehicles MUST report to the Registration Desk ONE HOUR before the departure time of their selected group to complete the registration process.
• All Drivers will attend COMPULSORY driver safety briefing as well to ensure that the vehicle tyres are deflated to the optimum pressure (compressor available for re-inflation after the tour).
• NO persons may be transported in the back of a pick-up type vehicle.
• ALL passengers MUST be seated with their seatbelts fastened in place at all times.
• NO alcohol is permitted before, during or after the drive while still on Koeberg Nature Reserve Property. Eskom reserves the right to test any driver or occupant for alcohol.
• All persons entering the property must adhere to the Koeberg Emergency Plan and any instruction given to them at the time.
• No drone photography is allowed in any section of the reserve or route.

For September, we have an exciting weekend outing planned at a brand new venue just outside Montagu: Badensfontein Eco Reserve!

Badensfontein is a family-owned farm only 7km from the quaint Karoo town of Montagu, amidst peaceful and tranquil surroundings in the Baden Valley. You will have the peace and quiet that only camping & glamping can offer, with the comfort and convenience that you can expect from luxury accommodation, and plenty of space for outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, cross country running, & photography.

Experience the charm of this secluded natural destination and the convenience of Montagu, where you will find almost anything that you need, including shops, restaurants, and beautiful fruit & wine farms in the surrounding area.

The farm's campsite is located on shady lawns at the foot of the Waboomsberg, with panoramic views of the Langeberg Mountain Range, orchards, and vineyards. Each site is equipped with electricity, and there are modern ablution facilities with warm water, and two thatched-roof lapas with braai facilities. A swimming pool is available, and guests are also welcome to fish (catch and release). Regrettably, NO PETS PLEASE.

• Alternatively, you can drive up on Saturday morning, but please make sure that you arrive before 10am if you want to drive the trail.
• Saturday: Drivers meeting at 10:00, after which we will drive the trail(s). We will round off the day with a braai at the boma.
• Sunday: Break camp and make your way home at your leisure.

Dear Cape Land Rover Club Members,

Our next CLRC Fun Drive will be on Heritage Day at Zevenwacht Wine Estate, in Kuils River!

We will drive various routes, ranging from mild to challenging, with the latter being optional. The terrain is generally firm, with clay sand, and a few rocky sections. This is a great opportunity for newbies to get to know their vehicles, and to gain confidence and off-road driving experience, and our more experienced drivers will be at hand to help.

We will have lunch at the boma after the drive, so please bring your camping chairs (optional, there are benches), refreshments and a picnic lunch.

Please note that NO DOGS are allowed at this venue!

Venue: Zevenwacht Wine Estate, Kuils River

Date: Thursday, 24th September 2026

Time: Drivers' meeting at 10:00am

Trail cost: R300 per vehicle cash payable at venue, whether you participate in the drive or are just spectating/visiting/socializing. Families may enter multiple drivers at no additional cost.

Lunch: A picnic lunch at the boma, please bring your own camping chair(optional), food, and drinks.
